Born and raised in the Philippines, Bernadette embarked on a transformative journey that has shaped her into a dedicated mental health professional. After earning her undergraduate degree in Psychology, she set out to explore North America. Her path led her to Canada, where she pursued a post-graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Sciences, ultimately establishing herself as an immigrant while completing a Master of Clinical Psychology degree from Adler Graduate Professional School.
With a career spanning over 15 years, Bernadette has worn many hats, showcasing her versatility and commitment to holistic mental health. She has served as a school guidance counsellor, behavior therapist, clinical supervisor for intensive behavior interventions (IBI) for children with Autism, and a play and social skills therapist. Her collaborations with esteemed institutions such as CAMH, Hospital for Sick Children, various schools, and community agencies highlight her dedication to research and fostering client growth and transition.
Bernadette specializes in addressing a diverse range of concerns, including Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism (ASD), learning disabilities, behavioral issues, anxiety, decolonization and racial identity, depression (including postpartum depression and bereavement), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), childhood trauma, and personality disorders. She currently offers remote (video/phone) psychotherapy from her Kitchener locations, utilizing her extensive experience to provide compassionate and effective support.
As she continues to expand her expertise, Bernadette is in the process of completing a Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Additionally, she serves as the clinical supervisor for Street Therapy, contributing to the empowerment of the new generation of diverse mental health practitioners. Bernadette’s unwavering dedication to her clients and the field of mental health makes her a compassionate guide on the journey toward healing and well-being.
Bernadette works in both Kitchener locations, but currently only provides remote (video/ phone) psychotherapy.
